Hoof Prints

A good friend and mentor of mine in Chiropractic once told me “if you hear hoof prints behind you its probably a horse….but it might be a zebra.” I’ve always loved his quote and how it applied Chiropractic-wise. A lot of times when a patient comes in with pain in their low back stemming from their right or left side the problem lies within the joint corresponding of the pain. There are, however, circumstances when the problem lies on the opposing side and it is not necessary or sometimes wrong to address the “horse” in the situation. I have had several patients lately that have been the “zebras” and have had tremendous results with them. Some which have seen other Chiropractor’s for chronic conditions that saw little to no improvement. It’s the specificity that the technique of Gonstead that I practice offers which many other forms don’t. I love to be the one to show people that there truly is a difference in the manner that I practice and can help those that previously thought Chiropractic can’t help them.
